Description

Our ancestors created prominent features in the landscape as navigation points. Prehistoric standing stones, mounds, hill forts and earthworks, crisscrossed throughout the land. Each place, significant and connected. Captured between two slices of fused glass; copper wire, coloured fragments and iridescent particles create organic movement and energy with a gentle nod to ancient beliefs.

A sculptural statement as well as a candle bearer. Held in a limited edition, solid light giving base of reclaimed pitch pine from St Patrick’s Cathedral, 5th Avenue, New York which made its way to Ireland in 1984.

Measurements: 280mm x 150mm x 90mm

Created by Irish glass artist, Tracey Mc Verry at White Rock Glass Studio. Nestled in the rolling hills of South Armagh at her 5th generation family homestead, Tracey creates kiln formed glass artworks inspired heavily by her natural surroundings, the unique geological aspects of South Armagh and the strong connection with neolithic sites across the landscape of her native homeland.
